Because, Newman’s Own hasn’t cornered the market on tasty charitable treats…
Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio

Ah, BOOZE! Santa Margherita has supported the Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life since 2008. I drink twice, maybe three times more, because it’s for a good cause.
I’m not saying I can walk 10k faster through the use of Pinot Grigio, but I can certainly walk it happier.
What you can’t see in this picture is the twelve empty bottles in the recycling bin.
I think when you make a commitment to a philanthropic lifestyle you should live your mission, am I right?
Mike & Ike

As makers of the world’s most charitable tiny sugar pills, Mike & Ike sponsored a contest for youth philanthropy called Ante Up!
Young philanthropists entered personal stories about their charitable work to win cash (and candy) for an organization of their choice.
Mike & Ike have also been longtime supporters of Alex’s Lemonade stand through their Lemonade Blend candy brand.
My advice is, don’t pair this candy with the Pinot Grigio from the previous entry. You’ll ruin your palate. Save the wine for your bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken.
Kentucky Fried Chicken

And here it is. Kentucky Fried Chicken Buckets for the Cure!
Oh KFC, you took so much shit for this one!
KFC’s partnership with Susan G. Komen Foundation has been well detailed on other, better blogs.
While the (in)appropriateness of this cause-promotion has been examined, has anyone considered the tastiness?
There’s just something amazing about KFC. It must be the chemical that makes you crave it fortnightly?
7-Eleven Cup With A Cause

It’s a cup, that a celebrity has drawn on! Sort of.
But in the cup, you can get coffee. Or other “hot beverages”, according to the press release. During the 7-Eleven Cup with a Cause promotion, each celeb who creates a cup will have $250,000 donated to their cause. (John Cena’s design is particularly LOLzy.)
Upcoming celebs who took the time to scrawl something include well-known philanthropist Nicole Ritchie, who must be to 7-Eleven what Angelina Jolie is to the UN.
Me & Goji

If the KFC is giving you digestive issues, time to head for a box of granola.
And what’s more Me Generation than designing your own hippie cereal with your own hippie ingredients?
Me & Goji’s web site reminds folks: “We give 5% of our profits to charities, with a focus on local and regional charities consisting of a small group of passionate people trying to change the world.”
Which is comforting when you’re paying $18 USD for granola.
To be fair, I love things that are shipped in capsules. I may have fallen on my credit card and accidentally ordered four or five tubes of Swedish Moosley. It’s for charity, FFS!
White Castle Candle
Unfortunately this last entry is not really a food; it’s just for the tasty smellings, kids!
The White Castle Candle smells like White Castle burgers. Obviously. A niche market Glade missed with all their “white cotton” and “passionflower” business?
The candles sold for $10 each, with net proceeds going to Autism Speaks. But if you want one, or five, too slow padre, they sold out almost immediately!
The NY Post details the candle frenzy:
“We thought we had a two- month supply for online sales, but they were gone in 48 hours,” said Jamie Richardson, a vice president of corporate and government relations. He projects the company will raise more than $50,000 for the nonprofit.
All I want for Christmas is a candle that smells like White Castle, so if you happen to hoarding them, be charitable and put one under my tree?
I’m so glad I found this blog. You breathe fresh insights into what’s usually a tired conversation (about nonprofits).
Thank you kindly, Sam!
You forgot about Barefoot wine… http://www.barefootwine.com/our-story/giving-back/Havingfunwhilegivingback.html
How could I forget another tasty, tasty vino!
I agree with Sam – this blog brings a young, fresh perspective to the nonprofit sector! Thanks for writing.
If you’re interested, we have a GameRaise post about muffins (tasty treats!) Would love some feedback if you have any time (http://blog.gameraise.com/?p=51).
My boss, who made the muffins, told me later that he came back to the kitchen to find that one of them had a huge bite taken out of it! (pesky 6 y/o boys haha). He was a little concerned, because he used permanent marker to write words on them. Luckily, no trips to the emergency room needed to be made, and we still got a funny picture
